Date of arrival: 25 September 2009
Visa: 30 days
Trips: Taipei , Hsinchu, Taichung, Hualien
Annotations: Just one note, as for my second time in Taiwan, after having met quite few people from different provinces, I must say, overall according to my experience, I found people coming from Kaohsioung among the most kind, warm and accomodating.
The trip to Hualian was nice and the east coast is as green as i was imagining it. People are more “indigenous” type, darker skin, different way of speaking and generally friendly. We visited two friends of Weiju who are running a bed and breakfast business and serve fresh soy milk, fruit salad and home made bread every morning to their guests. Unfortunately heavy rain and cold winds spoiled a bit the tropical environment. Beaches, as you can see in the picture, were mostly rocky with vulcanic sand. The blue tone of the ocean recalls somehow a nice dive even if i doubt about the cleanness of the water.
Photogallery:
- Hsinchu, where I lived
- shit place
- temple shop
- Stinky Tofu, basically tofu (soy bean) that smells like something rotten. As a tofu amateur, I must say it doesnt taste as bad as it smells
- my favorite nigt market dessert: MUACHI, made with green bean soup, sweet rice bals with black sesamene inside! slurp!
