It has been almost a month since I wrote the last entry here. There were various reasons for my negligence: to mention a few, I finally decided to go back to that filthy place named Italy for couple of months with my partner in crime, let alone lover Huang 小姐 , after more than 1 year traveling around Asia. I will soon upload the last pictures of some short trips I took around Taiwan during the last 3 weeks, Taipei, Taichung, Lugang, Hsinchu, Hualien, Ilang. In the photo on the left, Beckon (I had great fun with 瑋喬 tasting local food in the night market), Sabrina, Erin and me, where I lost 500 USD over a bet in which the petite lady behind me had to eat 18 sushi dishes, half cup of green tea, a ginger spoon and hold everything in h er stomach for 10 minutes. Apart from this silly bet, recently, I have been seriously thinking about very practical matters, plans for the years to come, possibilities of semi-settling down with a business and the contrast of with some dreams/projects that are still pending.
Today once again here in Kaohsiung I saw two local chicks at the beach who came down holding umbrellas, wearing a pair of long gloves and a foulard that was covering all of their faces except for the eyes. You have to know that in Asia it is widely common to see females using umbrellas to protect themselves not only from the rain but also from the sun rays. Or rather, it is more used for the sun rays than for the rain… But let’s get back for one moment to what I’ve studied in schoolbooks: during the old times, when the nobility and some other high classes had to set a difference between who had “miserable” jobs like farmers or outdoor workers (which were obviously getting a tan due to their frequent exposure to the sun) and those who, like the noble class, had the privilege not to work. Thus, the aristocratic class was really afraid of getting some dark color on their skin , because it could have damaged their reputation or worse, perhaps be mistaken for a cropper. That was understandable, it was like hundreds years ago and they were really enforced to follow some strict rules coming from their rigid and conservative families. Nowadays in Asia they follow the same principle with a nice plus of being fucked up by the fashion or whatever they play on M fucking TV or any commercial, with the result that being white is equal of being beautiful, especially for females. However and incredibly, in my country, Europe, people who are tan are considered healthy, beautiful and rich ! Yes because in Europe the weather generally sucks, it’s damn cold, so only people who are rich can afford to travel to far places in the winter and be tanned all year round. Not only that but you can see many spa centers where to get artificial uvas, like tanning beds , sprays etc. As for me, I would prefer going out with a lady who has a nice color , healthy and not pale like a cadaver: it looks sick to me, but hey this is only my personal opinion… instead, now I want you to tell me what the fuck is going on, I don’t even know if it’s more dumb to pay 15$ to get 10 minutes of artificial sun or going around patched like a mummy… i guess you both suck, dorks. Oh and I’m not finished for today, do you think all that is just a coincidence? No way! fools, obviously if you live in a sunny place they must find a way to get some bucks out of it, brainwashing you so that you can spend money on beauty products whitening creams and shit like that, or the other way around of course, if you live in a cloudy place… they will still turn the coin on the other side! Clever them and dumb you, my dear ladies.
I’ve recently received many messages from people who almost cant wait to get to watch the videos I took in China, Guangzhou; but unfortunately due to the multitude of mixed clip I recorded, I do not really have the time to work on it at present time. I’m busy at Kaohsiung beach, getting a wonderful tan. Probably I will start my editing once back home, but take this pill meanwhile: a short clip shot in Taipei, Taiwan.
After managing to sell my 2 years old laptop just before leaving China, I purchased a new one just today in Kaohsiung at computer street, Taiwan. For a very cheap price I got a wonderful Compaq Presario B1966 powered by a Centrino 2 Dual Core 64 bit cpu, 2 Gb of ram, ati 200m graphic, 120 Hd and of course a 12.1″ screen for around 1.70kg of weight!! A super ultra portable and powerful notebook for only a thousand dollars, brand new and made in Taiwan. I am fully satisfied with my purchase and really happy to take full advantage of a system that will allow me to access over faster video editing and powered by Vista operating system.
Im just back from the immigration office, they denied the extension of my tourist visa. Apparently the only way to get a renewal is to cross the border, get the exit stamp and turn back in even a minute later. The only issue is that this country is an island, therefore I’ll basically need to fly out to the nearest or cheapest destination. Let’s see if I can find an alternative solution. I really like Kaohsiung and I would be very happy if I could stay here longer, go jogging every day at the sunset, work on my tan during the day and ride the motorbike along the coast getting the marine breeze on my face, watching the ships at the harbor, reading the their names and where they come from; dreaming of getting on board somehow and finding myself in another other part of the world.
