Since those assholes of Shanghai Young Channel TV promised to send …

Voting

Since those assholes of Shanghai Young Channel TV promised to send me a DVD copy of the show but never arrived, just recently, while browsing a sort of chinese-youtube trying to find clues, I’ve finally bumped into the footage where I was featured back in November 2010. Better late than never.
More than a year ago, when I had just returned to Milan, I was contacted by a Chinese TV talent scout who found my profile on the net and promptly offered me to join a Reality TV project. The format was simple: 4 chinese ladies traveling from Shanghai to Milan challenging each other by playing stupid games and the winner gets to stay in Italy and job position in a stylish Italian boutique (sponsored by “Herbalist”). It was explained to me that it was going to be a reality-show where everyone is free to act naturally and freely and where I could have even had the chance to meet a nice lady… basically I said I was in without thinking too much…
What a pity that this show had nothing to do with reality but I’d call it instead trash and fake TV: the whole thing is indeed a total set up and a sham! I just hope somebody from China reads this and bury the producers with loads of scandal.
During the first part, (星尚之旅 米兰站 第1/4集) at around minute 16.20 in the video, you can see a naive lady hunting for a random gentleman in the streets of Milan; at some point she finds me standing at the bus stop reading a newspaper. She asks me if i want to join the game, making it look like it all happens by chance. Real or fake? Fake of course: I was contracted 2 months before the show and I was told exactly where to stand and what to do. About minute 34.40 when I get into a cafe I am wearing a different jacket because the scene was shot on the third day and not on the first like it was said to the audience. By the way I started to look down at the 4 ladies as soon as I realized they were dying to win and be a fucking slave clerk for a sissy shop… I felt pity for them, for their inner poorness, but eventually it made me nervous working with them so I started to do my best to mess up the show. I then convinced the other italian guys to have some fun all together and we began to swear in front of the camera (in the second part, 星尚之旅 米兰站 第2/4集 about 39.20) you can hear a chorus of “PORCO DIO” (god fucking damn it). At minute 46:35 in the third part ( 星尚之旅 米兰站 第3/4集 ) I was asked again to vote-out one of the ladies; I had to disclose one name and a reason: it was a difficult choice because they were all dumb bitches so I thought of giving them the satisfaction of my exterior judgement at least, therefore, I picked the one who was fatter, and that was my reason, simple and bold, however the producer told me that I couldnt say that on TV… so after several minutes of discussion where I kept asking them what was the point calling this a ”reality” when it was all made of mirrors and smoke, I was ultimately pushed to tell a lie, I had to say that the girl seemed to be holding a secret and that was why I didnt like her…
I have done so much against the show that when I reviewed the content which was eventually aired, I saw I had at least 50% of my video cut along with at least 70% of the audio were re-edited and muted in most cases.
The fourth part, 星尚之旅 米兰站 第4/4集 is characterized by a funny ending that wasn’t surprisingly cut off like my other performances: when everyone gave their final vote to the ladies, I refused to provide mine, popping a baloon and turning my back on them.
There were also many smiles within all that sad shallowness and I have to admit that in the end of the 5 filming days I had a substantial amount of carefree fun plus I got a new pal (Roberto), with whom I remained friend till now.

It’s the christmas night and im at my relative’s countryside house, …

It’s the christmas night and im at my relative’s countryside house, sitting alone at the head of a long table, wearing 2 sweaters and working on my laptop. Yes, seriously working for cash and not for any abstract reward this time, at least in the short term. Outside in the garden is foggy, cold and malencholic. Is it not funny? Just a couple of years ago I imagined myself ending up in a hot place far away from here, with hot chicks, hot pots and talking about hot topics…
Accepting the idea of temporarily re-settling in the very first place that I thought I was going to leave for good, isnt easy at all, but it comes with some benefits as well. I have my own car and im free to drive to any place at any time across the whole european union which is giving me freedom of action. I have splendid networking that gives me protection and injects freedom of choice, I got a place where I can decide who gets in and who gets out, where I can finally play the role of the host and not the guest. A stable lan that allows me to download tons of international movies, stream any live show and talk freely and clearly to any friend around the world without bearing with tedious loading times.
However, I am embracing a solution of truce just because I was way too fed up with 3rd world settings; tired of seeing disorganization, scarce hygiene, uncontrolled birth rate, dirty, dusty and polluted cities but on top of all unlimited ignorance. Threatens to your propriety, your bank account and your person whoes life-value is worth less than a quarter compared to a civilized country.
Thinking about few months ago, while landing at Milan airport, I felt surprisingly happy to be back…for the first time ever.

I came to re-think about technology in general when i recently got …

I came to re-think about technology in general when i recently got myself a tiny smartphone with Android OS installed; substantially a smaller-scale replacement of a laptop with unlocked potential in application-wise. With an iphone4 today, you can more or less speak to your phone and it all makes me want to see and live for what’s coming next. We currently have many futurists who are predicting the most significant technological advances to come, over the next 10, 50, 200 and even 1000 years in time. My take on progress is a little conservative, but the nearly-exponential technological growth is definitely unstoppable: few years from now, i’ll probably be holding a phone that is just couple of millimeters thin, with a transparent and flexible display, capable of being at least as powerful as the fastest consumer pc available today. Numerous social interactions will happen with a click, and by 2020 over 50% of couples will meet online. Cars will start to require less human control and new types of fuels will become popular. Not later than 2020, newspapers and books will practically disappear, replaced by cheap electronic displays. By 2030 we will use 3D printers at home to create objects for daily life use while virtual reality along with internet 3.0 will start to take place. The top feared diseases like aids, cancer and alzheimer will be cured.
Technology will continue to advance despite of any possible global crisis or war. Afterwards, circuits will be so much embedded into our physical being and lifestyle, that we will start to assist at very deep and quick transformations of society, economy and politics in unimaginable ways.

The reasons behind my registration are personal, however Im celebrating by posting this for my own pride and hanging the certificate on my bedroom’s wall at least for the long await. I had actually almost lost hope until the unexpected happened.
For your information by the way, at present times there are many other ways to protect a certain work, especially if it’s digital.

It’s the early morning and I am about to leave a country, any country; no matter how much I hate a place, I cant help but feeling a vast sense of abandonment mixed to an embittered motion of leaving to the indefinite. The pain of destroying a current set of adaptations and start everything from scratch once again, for the millionth time. Leaving behind repetitive tiny shreds of simplicity and fulfilling meaningless actions, I feel like I once I’ve left, I could never return under the same circumstances and state of mind. So I feel like I’d like to stay forever, despite everything…then a part of me dies inside, wanting to disappear and simply be everywhere at the same time.

Leaving Europe behind, wanting to feel again that sense of …

Leaving Europe behind, wanting to feel again that sense of freedom by looking at the upcoming unknown, with a smile and a set of meticulously selected clothes and tools stored in a handbag.
Speaking an accent of contradiction, Im not sure anymore if I keep going back to the same countries because I easily lounge to have a paved way to go or because by getting familiar with the place itself and friends, I subconsciously hope to turn the whole experience in a new temporary “home” or comfort zone. I reckon however, that the longer I stay in a nation, the more Im prone to criticize its government and citizens… possibly justified by feeling every day a bit more of a resident.
Thailand hasn’t changed much obviously, apart from the technological renovation that made possible some minor economic, political and social changes, affordable even for a third world country. Its philosophy also remains untouched: nothing is free ! …Especially in a nation that has recently made its fortune by overexploiting tourism and foreign investments, despite of the market ethics and environmental protection. Thanks to a spread over-the-counter anarchy, we can now admire a very nice set of filthy shores, sleazy old tourists and.. ok whatever… let’s not touch the sore point.
Left the good part for last, I found some relaxation, living again the old times where I didnt know what day it was and where i forgot the last time i wore my shoes…
