23 and Me

Your DNA is everything you got!

Your DNA is everything you got!

DNA day sale on www.23andme.com ! Just for today, for as low as the shipment cost to your country plus a mandatory 12 months subscription fee of about 9$ p/m, you can become part of the great scientific experiment of collecting peoples DNA. But of course it isnt all about data collection, examination and statistical research; indeed you will be rewarded with an exclusive report containing more information about yourself that you can ever imagine and that no doctor in the world will be ever capable of providing. You’ll find out about your ancestors and origins, where they might have lived plus you can obviously reconnect with those who are still living for instance a 4th grade cousin… You’ll read estimation for genetic chances of getting inheritable diseases and medical conditions such as type-2 diabete, breast cancer, other age related issues, molecular degeneration, Parkinson and so on (up to a number of 180). It also includes perfect examination of your DNA reaction towards all potential drugs, so that you can find the right dosage and your body tolerance to a certain prescription. You are more than welcome to share the results with your doctor so that you can together understand your risk-areas and further personalize your healthcare experience.
I am certainly proud of having partecipated to an initiative that can really save lives by prevention, create substantial database for unlimited future purposes and help the scientific research. (Google has already contributed with 4M $).
All you need to do is order the kit and wait to receive a special phial at your address, spit in a generous amount of your saliva and mail it back to the US. In less than a month you’ll be getting the results online.
I’ve just ordered my kit today and I strongly reccommend every rational being  to do the same. Special thanks to Franco F. for tipping me off with this wonderful opportunity.

Happy new year, Levis 501

Warning! Every time I think about people wearing low waist pants I get angry, so, continue to read only if you are over 18…
Ok then, last week I was in need of a new pair of jeans, thus I walked into several shops, scouting for a STANDARD pair of jeans: I found out that they no longer sell a fucking classic pair of jeans, instead they do sell other bullshit jeans; they are torn style, stretched style, ripped style, wear out style, full of holes, with stripes, double colors, sprayed, written everywhere, and especially very low waist, those that they call “fashionable”. Bullshit. It’s fucking disgusting. Women with low waist…pityful, they’re trying to make their legs and hips look shorter then what they probably are… And now, they even started to call “high” waist what the normal waist was. Please do dont call them “high” waist anymore, because that has just been the normal waist for ages.
In the end of the day, I found a Levis store and finally got the classic 501 model, pure, simple, standard, beautiful, still wearing cool.
Coco Chanel once said: “fashion fades, style is eternal”. In fact, I saw lots of crap and fashionable bullshit around, but what never fades is the classic 501, the style.

H1N1 Updates, Day 4

Taking first steps outside

Taking first steps outside

Yesterday late night I have experienced some psychological tension; being anxious, claustrophobic and with couple more of unclear behaviours. Im not sure if it’s due to the side effects of the Tamiflu or my own reaction to 4 days of living on a bed. Two new h1n1 infected people were added in our room, bringing up the total number to 5 patients sharing the same tiny space. Anyway, as I promised, I am posting some pictures of this convalescence. Click on more to see the photos.

H1N1 Updates, Day 3

Today one of my roommates left earlier than scheduled while I tested again positive to h1n1. My fever lowered to 37c and I decided to start a bit of physical recovery with 10 minutes of stretching and light gymnastic after each meal. The Italian Consul of Guangdong called me on the phone to check if i was all right. My head is a bit upside down and I often feel dizzy. Apart from that, everything else seems to have slighly improoved…
