first try
Since we have some rather advanced tool for oil-painting at home, I gave it a try. I was quite afraid of making mistakes by mixing the colors, obtaining the wrong tonality and when I let my first strokes lean against the canvas. I already had the image I wanted to draw in my head, I was thinking about drawing an elaborate of clip-art of the Deserted Island Project. As you can notice from the photo, I had troubles in finding the right shade for the sea and the sky, even though I found a rather good gradient for the deeper ocean (bottom of the painting). It’s about 15×10 cm so It’s a very small canvas. It made me feel I was back in junior-high school and I can say I pretty much like the feeling of putting colors on a blank sheet… if only I had the talent for drawing, that could be a good profession/hobby. I have always been terrible with a pencil in my hand, all my sketches look like if they were made by a three or four years old child… : )
Me & Wei Ju
Until these days, I’ve never had the pleasure of having professional camera to play with all day. I’ve always used those point-and-shoot compact digital cameras models that are extremely rugged and portable but with less shooting capabilities, fitting my traveling style. Finally, having the chance to practice with my girlfriend’s DSLR, a Canon EOS 1000D, I’ve recently tried to take some good shots while in Italy and Indonesia. I have to say that using a DSLR is a complete different feeling from all the other cameras: it’s clearly noticeable even after the first shots that there is much more sharpness and shallow depth-of-field on request and in general, there is enough room for customization. Nevertheless I have always been more fond of the beauty in videoclips rather than static pictures, I now start to recognize some artistic features out of a good photo. In fact, astonishing art can be “easily” achieved through complex photographic techniques. So, I’ve added a new link-button to the website’s menu (bar on top): Photography. It’s a sort of photogallery where I will one by one add all my best works…

Warning! Every time I think about people wearing low waist pants I get angry, so, continue to read only if you are over 18…
Ok then, last week I was in need of a new pair of jeans, thus I walked into several shops, scouting for a STANDARD pair of jeans: I found out that they no longer sell a fucking classic pair of jeans, instead they do sell other bullshit jeans; they are torn style, stretched style, ripped style, wear out style, full of holes, with stripes, double colors, sprayed, written everywhere, and especially very low waist, those that they call “fashionable”. Bullshit. It’s fucking disgusting. Women with low waist…pityful, they’re trying to make their legs and hips look shorter then what they probably are… And now, they even started to call “high” waist what the normal waist was. Please do dont call them “high” waist anymore, because that has just been the normal waist for ages.
In the end of the day, I found a Levis store and finally got the classic 501 model, pure, simple, standard, beautiful, still wearing cool.
Coco Chanel once said: “fashion fades, style is eternal”. In fact, I saw lots of crap and fashionable bullshit around, but what never fades is the classic 501, the style.
Giuseppe
My new friend from China, “Giuseppe”, has been studying Italian for 1 year only, but speaks amazingly fluent! Considering that he has never been to Italy, not only he owns an impressive vocabulary of words but he also knows lots of Italian slang and ways of saying. As if it weren’t enough, he is a lyrical singer, a tenor: well, actually he’s still studying on that, but he (just few days ago) won the second prize during a competition among all Guangdong province universities. In a couple of years he will travel to Italy mastering his talent at the Milan Conservatorio where many famous musicians have studied in the past. I wish him good luck and I will soon upload some of his demo of “La donna e’ mobile”.
Alan Rooster at Holliwood, California, Michael Jackson star , 1994
I have been listening to music since very young, first initiated by my parents who, while traveling by car, were playing classical tapes like Beethoven, Mozart, Chopin, Albinoni, Richard Clyderman and some jazz by Glenn Miller or Frank Sinatra.
However, the first time I started to listen to some music by my own, in my room, with my own tapes, started around my 11th or 12th birthday, when my best friend (Antonio U. “Tony”) got me the album Dangerous (Michael Jackson). It was the first musical experience in my walkman and in my room’s stereo. Soon after, I turned on the radio and started to learn many different kind of music, especially eurodance during the ’90 (Regina, Corona, Double You, Alexia, ATB, Snap, Ace of Base etc…), and the general pop at the time. Queen, Backstreet boys, Britney Spears, Pink Floyd, Metallica, Nirvana, Oasis, Thake that, Spice Girls and the other big names in the pop scene.
After couple of years, I moved my attention to the ’80 with Bee Gees, and the other oldies.
Some italian artists in my personal collection are Lunapop, Laura Pausini, 883 and Articolo 31.
Let’s say, till now, im still stuck back at the 80′ and 90′, it seems nowadays there are not so many great artists as they used to be before, dont know why.
